Rhea Chakraborty Reflects on Healing, Belief, and Mental Wellness

Post by : Mina Rahman

In an exclusive conversation, Rhea Chakraborty opens up about her transformative journey in the entertainment industry over the past five years. The tragic passing of her former partner, actor Sushant Singh Rajput, in 2020 led Rhea to face not only immense public scrutiny but also legal challenges and social alienation. Although recently cleared of allegations by the CBI, which Sushant’s family contested, Rhea disclosed that this turbulent experience had a profound impact on her mental health, resulting in PTSD.

In her candid revelations, Rhea found that her public struggles fostered connections, encouraging many to confide in her about their own mental health challenges. “Many felt I could relate to mental health issues. Even long-time friends began discussing their experiences only after my situation,” she explained.

Diving into her path of recovery, Rhea shared, “Each morning and night, I consciously reflected on what I’m thankful for—even on days when it seemed difficult, I found gratitude in simple things like being able to see or walk.”

Her spiritual beliefs play a vital role in her life, she noted. “Since 2020, I’ve been reciting the Hanuman Chalisa, at least seven times daily. It’s become a meditative practice for me,” she shared. Moreover, she draws strength from meaningful friendships and dialogues, which prompted her to launch a podcast. “Sharing creates power. Everyone seeks understanding. Being part of a community that listens and empathizes fosters healing,” she said.

Rhea also tackled the persistent stigma surrounding mental health issues, pointing out that many continue to trivialize these struggles as mere “drama” or assume that one can simply “control their mind.” She stressed that genuine mental health challenges are often rooted in chemical imbalances that individuals cannot resolve alone.
