Ras Al Khaimah Expands Diplomatic and Trade Links with China

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Ras Al Khaimah is poised to enhance its global commercial presence following the arrival of a senior delegation from Guangdong Province’s Department of Industry and Information Technology in China. Led by Deputy Director General Wang Shuping, this visit symbolizes a significant advancement in partnership between the Emirate and one of China’s foremost industrial regions.

During this pivotal meeting, hosted by Youssef Ismail, First Vice President of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce, various discussions took place. He was joined by Mohammed Al-Sabab, Deputy Director-General of the Chamber, and Eman Al-Hayyas, Director-General of the Saud bin Saqr Establishment for Youth Projects Development. The agenda revolved around joint initiatives in sectors like medical technologies, manufacturing, and IT.

Ismail emphasized the Chamber's dedication to encouraging investment, ensuring sustainable industrial development, and organizing events tailored to position Ras Al Khaimah as a prime location for international business.

The Saud Establishment’s commitment to fostering youth-driven small and medium enterprises (SMEs) was also a highlight. They offer extensive support to aspiring entrepreneurs via mentorship, training, and access to local and international markets. Plans emerged for participants to engage in the upcoming China Homelife Expo UAE, bolstering ties between Emirati businesses and the Chinese market.

The visiting delegation lauded Ras Al Khaimah’s industrial strengths and declared interest in hosting significant trade exhibitions, drawing attention to Guangdong Province’s advanced manufacturing and economic capacities. They recognized the vital role of SMEs in job creation and innovation—a vision shared by Ras Al Khaimah and the UAE.

Looking ahead, both the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber and the Saud bin Saqr Establishment have received an invitation to participate in the 23rd China–ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) set for September 2026, a critical venue for trade cooperation featuring over 1,500 Chinese enterprises. This invitation represents a strategic opportunity for enhancing bilateral commerce, exchanging knowledge, and unlocking new markets for Emirati firms.

This collaboration underscores Ras Al Khaimah’s unwavering resolve to cultivate robust international partnerships, while promoting an ecosystem conducive to innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic progress.
