Rakesh Bedi Addresses Kissing Controversy with Sara Arjun During Dhurandhar Trailer Launch

Post by : Mara Rahim

Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi has spoken out against recent accusations that he kissed his co-star Sara Arjun during the Dhurandhar trailer launch last month. At 71, Rakesh portrays the role of the crafty politician Jameel Jamali, with Sara as his lively daughter Yalina Jamali. While some attendees have criticized his actions, claiming he kissed Sara on the shoulder, Rakesh labeled these allegations as “stupid.”

In a subsequent interview, Rakesh clarified that Sarah is significantly younger and that their on-screen relationship depicts a father-daughter dynamic. He remarked, “Whenever we met on set, she would greet me with a hug as a daughter would. Our camaraderie translates both on and off the screen.”

He further stated, “That day was no exception, but individuals are misinterpreting our affection. It's simply the bond of an elder towards a younger person. If people misinterpret this, what can we do?” Rakesh also expressed incredulity, stating, “I wouldn’t express ill intent in a public setting, especially in front of her parents. It's absurd how some people twist facts and create drama on social media.”

Rakesh asserted that his intention is not to defend himself but to share his truth. He recounted a touching moment with a fan who has a child facing challenges, illustrating the respect he has cultivated through his long acting career.

The film Dhurandhar, featuring stars such as Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, and Akshaye Khanna, alongside Rakesh and Sara, has garnered positive audience feedback and has achieved considerable success.
