Actor Rajashekar, who previously worked as a doctor, has made a comeback to filming following a significant health setback. Recently, the 63-year-old actor sustained multiple ankle fractures while taking part in an action shoot in Medchal, Hyderabad. On November 25, he endured a bimalleolar dislocation along with a severe compound fracture resulting from high-impact trauma. Immediate medical intervention was essential, leading to his urgent hospitalization for surgery to prevent further complications.
The actor underwent an extensive three-hour surgical procedure involving open reduction and internal fixation, employing K-wires, screws, and a semi-tubular plate to ensure stability of his ankle. Additionally, a trans-fixation of the tibia utilized wires connecting through the calcaneum and talus bones. Post-surgery, Rajashekar is experiencing considerable pain and has been instructed to keep his leg immobilized for a period of three to four weeks. Consequently, all filming schedules have been postponed until January 2026, contingent upon his recovery progress.
This unfortunate incident isn't Rajashekar's first encounter with a serious leg injury, as he similarly injured his ankle while shooting for Magaadu in November 1989. Despite the challenges ahead, he is steadily recuperating and prioritizing health before resuming work commitments.
His latest appearance was in Vakkantham Vamsi’s 2023 film Extra Ordinary Man alongside Nithiin and Sreeleela. Rajashekar is slated to work on the upcoming film Biker with Sharwanand, which was originally planned for a December 11 release. Moreover, he has other films that have yet to be publicly announced. Family members, including his wife Jeevitha and daughters Shivani and Shivathmika, have not publicly addressed his condition.
His fans are eagerly awaiting a swift recovery, hoping to see him back on the big screen soon. Rajashekar's story underscores the inherent risks that actors face and emphasizes the importance of adequate recovery after serious health incidents.
