PureHealth Achieves AAHRPP Accreditation for Research Excellence

PureHealth, recognized as the largest healthcare provider in the Middle East, has attained full accreditation from the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP) for its major facilities, SEHA and Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City. This achievement underscores the organization's commitment to stringent clinical research standards and ethics.

The research initiatives at SEHA and SSMC are coordinated through the Abu Dhabi Health Research Centre, which serves as the research nucleus for PureHealth. This centre supervises a variety of research endeavors across 16 hospitals, primary healthcare centers, and cutting-edge laboratories in Abu Dhabi. At present, it manages over 200 active studies, encompassing early-phase trials, sophisticated clinical trials, and translational research.

Earning the AAHRPP accreditation signifies reaching a global gold standard in the protection of human subjects in research. The process involves a rigorous and voluntary peer-review assessment that exceeds basic regulatory obligations. Both SEHA and SSMC are accredited for a three-year term, highlighting PureHealth’s robust governance framework and relentless focus on ethical research practices.

In commenting on this significant accomplishment, Shaista Asif mentioned that the organization has cultivated a research platform that competes on a global scale, adhering to international benchmarks. She noted that this recognition fortifies Abu Dhabi’s status as a vital hub for clinical research and innovation in life sciences.
