Saudi Arabia Prepares for Hajj 1447 with Ample Supply of Sacrificial Animals

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has announced that the nation’s livestock sector is thoroughly equipped to fulfill the increasing need for sacrificial animals during the Hajj 1447 AH season.

According to the ministry, the Kingdom boasts a robust livestock production based on a national stock of over 22 million sheep, 7.6 million goats, 2.2 million camels, and more than 510,000 cattle. This extensive supply continues to bolster food security and promote self-sufficiency throughout Saudi Arabia.

Authorities emphasized the advanced health and disease prevention systems in place, which ensure the safety and quality of livestock during this peak season of Hajj.

The ministry confirmed that markets and slaughterhouses in Makkah are fully outfitted to cater to pilgrims with a plentiful supply of top-notch sacrificial animals. Enhanced health monitoring and field inspection teams have ramped up their efforts to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

These initiatives aim to safeguard public health, uphold product quality, and streamline services for the millions of pilgrims expected to participate in Hajj.
