Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim affirmed that Malaysia will steadfastly champion justice, peace, and human dignity as fundamental components of its foreign policy. This reiteration showcases the nation’s enduring commitment to principled global engagement.
During a public lecture titled “Power Shifts: Strategic Choices for Malaysia and Turkiye”, Anwar emphasized Malaysia’s readiness to participate in multilateral efforts aimed at resolving global conflicts, including the nation’s involvement in UN-led peacekeeping missions.
He highlighted that such participation will respect the frameworks of international cooperation and the leadership of regional players, ensuring Malaysia does not overshadow the efforts of neighboring countries or significant global actors in conflict resolution.
“We are prepared to contribute wherever necessary and in whatever manner help is needed,” Anwar mentioned, noting that Malaysia’s strategy is founded on collaboration, diplomacy, and mutual respect among nations.
Anwar also pointed out Malaysia's humanitarian interests are widespread, not just limited to the crisis in Gaza, but inclusive of the Rohingya in Myanmar and vulnerable communities across Southeast Asia, such as in Cambodia and Thailand.
He stated that Malaysia will persist in working within its capabilities to bolster peace and humanitarian endeavors, collaborating with regional partners and international organizations to address pressing global challenges.
The Prime Minister stressed that Malaysia’s foreign policy is deeply rooted in universal values, asserting that the country’s international stance is informed by a commitment to justice, peace, and the inherent dignity of all individuals, irrespective of their location or political context.
He concluded by reiterating Malaysia’s responsibility as part of the international community, dedicated to fostering stability, humanitarian values, and constructive dialogue in an increasingly interconnected global landscape.
