Paris Jackson Discusses Her Journey with Addiction and Health Challenges

In a revealing social media video, Paris Jackson, the 27-year-old singer and actress, has shared her long-standing struggle with addiction, as well as the health issue she grapples with even after years of sobriety. In a TikTok clip, she opened up about her perforated septum, a condition characterized by a hole in the cartilage dividing her nostrils, which some fans may have noticed in older videos.

Using her phone light to illustrate the condition, Jackson remarked, “It is from what you think it’s from… don’t do drugs, kids.” While she interjected a humorous note about being able to pass a spaghetti noodle through it, Jackson seriously asserted, “Drugs ruined my life.”

Having been sober for nearly six years, Jackson revealed that she has lived with this condition since she turned 20. Although it sometimes complicates her music recording, she opted against surgery as she does not want to risk the potential drug use related to the procedure.

Her comments come after she received the Shining Star Award at the Friendly House Awards Luncheon, where she spoke about her recovery journey. “I’m really grateful to be a part of a movement that resonates with my higher purpose and my daily reprieve,” she said, adding, “Helping someone find conscious contact has been the most pivotal step I’ve ever taken, and I hope to keep assisting others.”

As the only daughter of the legendary Michael Jackson, Paris is accompanied by her brothers Prince Michael Jackson, 28, and Bigi Jackson (formerly Blanket), 23, the sole heirs of the King of Pop.

By sharing her experiences, Jackson sheds light on the continuing challenges of addiction and its lasting effects, while reinforcing her dedication to sobriety and advocacy. She hopes her story will raise awareness about the perils of substance abuse and motivate others to pursue healthier lifestyles.
