The National Museum of Oman has unveiled a captivating exhibition for Oman Day, titled “The Splendor of Silver: Collections from the Omani Court”, at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Minsk, Belarus. This initiative underscores the burgeoning cultural collaboration between Oman and Belarus, with the aim to deepen friendship and mutual understanding. Visitors can explore this exhibition until March 18, 2026.

Featuring Omani silver, one of the nation's most esteemed traditional crafts, the exhibition displays a collection of rare silver artifacts once belonging to the Omani sultans in Muscat and Zanzibar. These treasures illustrate silver's pivotal role in both royal life and the daily experiences of Omanis, serving as a symbol of beauty, protection, and the artistry inherited through the ages.

The opening ceremony, held under the esteemed patronage of Her Highness Dr. Mona bint Fahd Al Said, highlighted the significance of cultural dialogues and shared understanding between Oman and Belarus. She emphasized that such events pave the way for new avenues of intellectual and artistic collaboration, bridging connections through mutual heritage.

The exhibition comprises five sections, encompassing the Omani dagger, perfume traditions, silver craftsmanship, conventional attire, and high fashion. Guests can delve into the historical significance of the Omani dagger, view historical Amouage perfume bottles, and discover silver jewelry used for adornment, dowry, and financial assurance.

Another section showcases traditional and upscale clothing, including items with ties to Omani history in East Africa. These exhibits enlighten visitors about Oman’s diverse cultural narrative and the profound intersections among art, history, and everyday life. The exhibition champions cultural cooperation, elevating Oman’s heritage on a global platform through museum diplomacy and artistic exchange.
