The Oman Summit for Diabetes and Endocrine Across the Lifespan 2025 commenced today in the Muscat Governorate. This significant event is held under the patronage of HH Sayyida Dr. Mona Fahad Al Said, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for External Cooperation at Sultan Qaboos University. The summit gathers specialists in diabetology, obesity, and hormone-related disorders, featuring 22 international experts delivering scientific presentations and lectures over two days.
Sayyida Dr. Noor Badr Al Busaidi, Chairperson of the Oman Diabetes Association, noted that the summit serves as a crucial scientific platform aimed at enhancing care for individuals suffering from diabetes, obesity, and endocrine conditions throughout Oman. She emphasized that this conference arises from robust collaboration among the Oman Diabetes Association, the Ministry of Health, and the National Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology, showcasing effective cooperation between civil society and governmental health bodies.
She further elaborated that the event seeks to foster national capabilities, promote collaborative efforts across various sectors, and elevate the standard of medical care. It brings together physicians, researchers, policymakers, and health officials to discuss significant topics, including diabetes technologies, hormone disorders in both children and adults, obesity medicine, metabolic bone health, thyroid diseases, as well as conditions affecting the pituitary and adrenal glands. Additionally, it will spotlight the latest advancements in precision medicine.
The agenda includes four practical workshops focusing on critical skills such as diabetic foot care, continuous glucose monitoring, carbohydrate counting, and insulin pump therapy. These sessions aim to enhance participants’ practical abilities in alignment with global standards. The summit is organized in two parallel scientific tracks—adult medicine and pediatrics—intended to evaluate the latest clinical practices and research concerning diabetes and metabolic health across various age groups.
