Olympus, a leading player in MedTech, has inaugurated its new Service Training Centre for the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa (META) at Dubai Science Park, part of TECOM Group PJSC. This AED3.7 million (US$1 million) investment is designed to support Olympus’ partners in over 33 countries throughout the META region. The company’s global centres in the Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific will also continue to provide training and technical support to clients around the world.
The opening ceremony was graced by various dignitaries including Jun Imanishi, Consul-General of Japan in Dubai; Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior VP of Dubai Science Park; Ronald Boueri, Vice President and Managing Director of Olympus META; and Dr Zeyad Al Moosa, Managing Director of GulfDrug LLC, along with other senior officials.
The facility will provide hands-on product training, live demonstrations, and technical workshops focusing on Olympus’ medical and surgical equipment. It is equipped with a state-of-the-art service and repair workshop and a spare-parts warehouse, which will enhance supply chain efficiency and bolster support for hospitals and enterprises in the region.
Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi emphasized that establishing a physical presence is critical for achieving sustainable growth in the region. He stated that Olympus’ new facility highlights its ongoing commitment to the region and enables swift responses to market dynamics. Ronald Boueri remarked that the centre reinforces Olympus’ capacity to deliver premium service, technical expertise, and practical training to META partners, capitalizing on Dubai Science Park’s robust infrastructure and extensive network of medical and business professionals.
The centre features two fully equipped training rooms capable of accommodating up to 150 engineers from META partners, facilitating the enhancement of their technical skills and service standards. Dubai Science Park is home to more than 6,500 professionals from sectors including life sciences, energy, and the environment, promoting a strong ecosystem for innovation, collaboration, and growth.
With the launch of this META Service Training Centre, Olympus aspires to improve regional support, elevate service quality, and deliver technical training to engineers and healthcare professionals, cementing Dubai's role as a strategic hub for its operations across the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa.
