The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has launched the “Entrepreneurial Families Initiative” in the Al Ain Region, partnering with Majalis Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority to support families eager to start and grow their businesses.
This initiative seeks to enhance the presence of family-run enterprises in Abu Dhabi’s economy, aligning with the emirate’s ambition to create a diversified, innovation-driven, knowledge-based economy.
To advance this goal, a range of educational workshops will be held across various sites in Al Ain. Participants will receive guidance on launching businesses, acquiring licenses, and utilizing government support services within Abu Dhabi's business framework.
The programme will leverage community platforms in collaboration with Majalis Abu Dhabi, ensuring direct interaction with local audiences and fostering engagement.
This effort is part of ADDED's broader mission to bolster small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), enhance private sector engagement, and foster sustainable economic progress by simplifying market entry and improving awareness of business regulations.
Participants in the workshops will also gain insights into the services and regulations offered by the Abu Dhabi Registration Authority, which operates under ADDED to oversee and promote the business landscape in the emirate.
Key subjects encompassed in the workshops will include business registration processes, licensing mandates, regulatory frameworks, and support services available for entrepreneurs.
Subsequent to the workshops, specialized training sessions will be available throughout the year in Al Ain, focusing on areas like e-commerce, financial management, and exploring opportunities in digital and priority sectors.
His Excellency Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of ADDED, emphasized that this initiative showcases Abu Dhabi’s dedication to fostering economic development participation and enhancing the emirate’s stature as a competitive and future-ready economy.
He also remarked that the Al Ain Region significantly contributes to Abu Dhabi's economic growth strategies, noting a 29 percent increase in new licenses issued in the area during 2025.
His Excellency Mohammed Alshaiba Al Sharyani, Acting Director General of Economic Affairs at ADDED, stated that the initiative was launched in coordination with the Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development, Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, Majalis Abu Dhabi, and essential e-commerce partners to equip communities with requisite skills and business acumen.
He further explained that the initiative aims to enable participants to leverage Abu Dhabi’s advantageous business environment while contributing to inclusive economic development, job creation, and productivity enhancement across the emirate.
