This past NBA weekend delivered thrilling matchups as notable teams claimed significant victories. The Atlanta Hawks narrowly triumphed over the Charlotte Hornets with a 113-110 scoreline, highlighted by Nickeil Alexander-Walker’s impressive 23 points and a critical defensive stop in the final moments. His clutch layup with 1:42 remaining granted Atlanta a 111-110 edge, while a steal from rookie Kon Knueppel sealed the win. Jalen Johnson shone for the Hawks, contributing 28 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds, complemented by Dyson Daniels' 22 points and Onyeka Okongwu’s 20 points and seven rebounds. For the Hornets, Knueppel led the charge with 28 points, joined by Collin Sexton with 22 and Miles Bridges with 21.
In Miami, the Heat bested the Philadelphia 76ers 127-117, led by Norman Powell's 32-point performance. Kel’el Ware also made a mark with 20 points and 16 rebounds. Bam Adebayo added 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Davion Mitchell contributed eight points, 12 assists, and eight rebounds, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored 22 points from the bench. For the struggling 76ers, Tyrese Maxey notched 27 points, complemented by Trendon Watford with 19 points and 23 rebounds from Andre Drummond, as both Joel Embiid and Paul George were sidelined due to injuries.
The Toronto Raptors secured their seventh consecutive win with a 119-109 victory against the Brooklyn Nets. Immanuel Quickley scored 13 points, including two timely 3-pointers in the closing minutes. Scottie Barnes led the Raptors with 17 points, while RJ Barrett had 16 before suffering a knee injury. For the Nets, Tyrese Martin scored 26 points, Michael Porter Jr. recorded 25, and Noah Clowney finished with 22 points.
In Cleveland, Donovan Mitchell sparked the Cavaliers with 37 points, eight rebounds, and six assists to deliver a 120-105 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. Evan Mobley contributed 18 points, while De’Andre Hunter added 17 points. Ivica Zubac stood out for the Clippers, scoring 33 points and pulling down 18 rebounds, but the team continued its struggle this November with a 2-10 record.
The Boston Celtics bounced back from a recent home loss, edging the Orlando Magic 138-129. Jaylen Brown led with 35 points, supplemented by Anfernee Simons with 23 points off the bench. Jett Howard paced the Magic with 30 points while Franz Wagner had 15 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
The Oklahoma City Thunder, maintaining their impressive streak, defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 122-95, extending their winning run to nine games, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander netting 37 points, seven assists, and five rebounds. Ajay Mitchell contributed 20 points off the bench, while Jerami Grant led the Blazers with 21 points.
In another matchup, the Phoenix Suns came out on top against the San Antonio Spurs, winning 111-102. Dillon Brooks was pivotal with 25 points, while Devin Booker added 24. Jordan Goodwin recorded his first double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. De’Aaron Fox led the Spurs with 26 points.
Lastly, the Los Angeles Lakers narrowly defeated the Utah Jazz 108-106, thanks to Luka Doncic's 33 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists. Austin Reaves and LeBron James contributed 22 and 17 points respectively, while Keyonte George led Utah with 27 points.
This weekend showcased remarkable performances and thrilling finishes, captivating NBA fans as the season unfolds.
