Two big NBA preseason games between the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks are scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi in October 2025. Etihad Arena on Yas Island will host the games on Thursday, October 2, and Saturday, October 4.

As part of a multi-year partnership between the NBA and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the event is called the NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2025 presented by ADQ. Along with bringing well-known basketball games to the area, the relationship also involves youth programs, fan gatherings, esports tournaments, and community projects that emphasize sustainability, health, and well-being.

Since 2022, nearly 20,000 young participants across the UAE have taken part in NBA-related development programs. Fan engagement has also grown through NBA 2K League showcases and appearances by both current and former NBA and WNBA players.

The New York Knicks will arrive with stars like Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Mikal Bridges, while the Philadelphia 76ers will feature Joel Embiid—the 2023 NBA Most Valuable Player—along with Paul George and Tyrese Maxey.

Live coverage of the games will be available on television, internet platforms, and social media throughout the United Arab Emirates, the Middle East, and more than 200 other nations and territories.

Basketball enthusiasts are anticipated to travel from all around the region to see the high-profile games, and tickets are currently on sale.
