Partnership Boosts Fujairah as UAE’s First Sustainable Aviation Fuel Hub

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Fujairah is on track to become the UAE’s inaugural center for large-scale Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) thanks to a significant collaboration between MENA Biofuels and Evertree announced at ADIPEC 2025. This partnership bolsters the nation’s commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050 and aligns with its SAF Roadmap for 2030.

The Feedstock Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) facilitates Evertree's provision of used cooking oil and other waste materials for processing into low-carbon aviation fuel. This initiative not only guarantees a reliable and sustainable feedstock for SAF production but also promotes a circular economy in the UAE.

Mohamed Saeed Al Raqbani, Chairman of MENA Biofuels, expressed that this agreement establishes the groundwork for a transparent and effective SAF ecosystem. “Our partnership, from sourcing sustainable feedstock to delivering certified SAF, underscores our dedication to the UAE’s energy goals,” he stated.

The project is also aimed at localizing SAF production, positioning the UAE as a competitive contender in the renewable fuel industry. Gati Al Jebouri, CEO of MENA Biofuels, pointed out that dependable and sustainable SAF supply chains are essential for the industry’s growth.

Co-Founder of Evertree, Anita Lao, remarked that converting waste into high-value aviation fuel directly supports the UAE’s climate objectives and aids in the global transition towards responsible energy practices.

This partnership is set to elevate Fujairah as a key regional SAF hub, driving innovations in low-carbon solutions and reinforcing the UAE’s leadership in sustainable aviation fuels.
