Miss Universe India 2025, Manika Vishwakarma, is capturing hearts globally as she competes in the 74th Miss Universe pageant held in Thailand. Her poise, charm, and thoughtful insights have made her a standout contestant. She has drawn attention not only for her fashion sense but also for her articulate and composed responses during media interactions.
On November 16, during a unique “chain reaction question session,” Manika encountered a significant query linked to India’s Miss Universe legacy. The interviewer referenced the memorable moment from 1994, when Sushmita Sen first brought home the Miss Universe title. Sushmita’s defining question at the time was, “What is the essence of being a woman?” This very question was posed to Manika.
Before delving into her personal insights, Manika took a moment to honor Sushmita's original response. She reminisced about Sushmita’s heartfelt and straightforward answer given at the age of 18, where she articulated that the essence of womanhood lies in the ability to nurture life and those around them. Despite the years that have passed, Manika believes this sentiment holds profound truth.
Manika expanded on Sushmita’s thoughts by emphasizing that women should not merely conform to societal roles. Instead, she advocates for recognizing women primarily as individuals, beyond predefined expectations. She articulated that women possess the intrinsic qualities of nurturing, creativity, and the capacity to enhance their surroundings with beauty and warmth.
Emphasizing that womanhood is multi-faceted, Manika described it as “infinite,” signifying the vast strength, love, and creativity inherent in every woman. Her response resonated deeply with many, striking a balance between honoring India’s pageant history and presenting a fresh, contemporary perspective on womanhood.
Manika Vishwakarma’s participation in Miss Universe 2025 has inspired youth both in India and internationally. Her insights underline the evolving narrative surrounding beauty pageants, which transcend superficiality and empower women through meaningful dialogue. Her views assert that the worth of a woman is not confined to traditional roles, but is expansive and impactful.
As the competition progresses, anticipation about her performance remains high, with many hoping for another triumph for India. Regardless of the outcome, her profound response has left a significant impression and will resonate with audiences for years to come.
