Mahima Chaudhry has shared her experience with breast cancer, revealing that her condition was identified during a routine health check-up in 2022. Surprised and without any symptoms or discomfort, she did not expect a cancer diagnosis. This revelation occurred while she underwent a standard yearly health test, not a specific screening for breast cancer.
Addressing attendees at the Young Women Breast Cancer Conference 2025, Mahima emphasized the silent nature of certain cancers, which may develop without noticeable indications. She highlighted that self-checks are insufficient for early detection, advocating for routine medical examinations to catch serious health issues early on.
Furthermore, she discussed advancements in cancer treatment in India since her diagnosis. Improved affordability of generic medicines, enhanced pharmaceutical support, and a noticeable increase in breast cancer awareness have positively impacted many patients. Hearing the experiences of other survivors bolstered her spirit during her recovery journey.
After her treatment, Mahima has begun to re-engage with her career, recently starring in the film The Signature alongside Anupam Kher. She is also set to appear in Durlabh Prasad Ki Doosri Shaadi with Sanjay Mishra, scheduled for release later this month. Through her journey, she aims to inspire others to prioritize their health and timely screenings.
