Eighth Round of Longines Hathab Equestrian Series Kicks Off in Qatar

Qatar's equestrian fervor was on display as the eighth round of the Longines Hathab series commenced on Thursday at the prestigious Longines Arena in Al Shaqab. This event marks the ongoing excitement of the series' ninth season and is organized in collaboration with the Qatar Equestrian Federation. Spanning three exciting days, the competition aims to nurture local talent among riders and horses alike. The inaugural day featured captivating events such as the 100cm Amateur class and the 130cm Silver class, drawing participation from both seasoned and emerging riders.

In the Amateur class, Khalifa bin Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani took the lead on his horse Zion, clocking a time of 54.36 seconds. Maryam Abdulkarim followed in second place aboard Beyonce with a time of 54.89 seconds, while Hamad Nasser Al Marri secured third on Jumbo, finishing in 55.15 seconds. Winners were acknowledged by Mohammed Saleh Al Marri, the Head of Facilities and Logistics for Longines Hathab, emphasizing the event's competitive spirit and the increasing allure of equestrian sports in Qatar.

The Silver class heightened the competition's thrill, with Nasser Al Ghazali seizing first place on Dexter, registering a compelling time of 26.85 seconds. Mohammed Abdullah Jumaa held second place on Viheibi with 27 seconds, and Khalid Al Hadi came in third on Doremi, completing the round in 27.65 seconds. Abdullah Mohammed Al Marri, the tournament director, presented awards to the Silver class riders in recognition of their remarkable performances.

As Qatar's premier domestic equestrian circuit, the Longines Hathab series fosters skill development, supports upcoming talent, and fortifies the nation's equestrian heritage. Each round illustrates the rise of new athletes and upholds a standard of professional excellence. The current season promises even more exhilarating competitions, providing essential opportunities for riders keen on advancing their skills in national equestrian events.
