Youth Rights Conference in Kyrgyzstan Engages Students

Post by : Shakul

A significant conference focused on the rights of children and youth engagement took place in Bishkek, uniting school leaders and students from the area. The aim was to enhance young people's participation in decisions that affect their futures.

Asel Chynbaeva, the Commissioner for Children’s Rights, participated actively, encouraging students to share their perspectives. She underlined the importance of developing systems that allow children's voices to influence policy-making.

Throughout the dialogue, attendees stressed the significance of establishing ongoing platforms for children to voice their opinions. Conversations covered how students can be more influential in education, social services, and urban planning initiatives.

The meeting brought up numerous issues facing youth today, including mental well-being, bullying prevention, protection from domestic abuse, inclusivity, and equal opportunities for all students, irrespective of their backgrounds.

Students highlighted the essential need for improved access to mental health support and robust family assistance structures. This reflects an increasing awareness of their rights and welfare in contemporary society.

Improving the education sector was another focal point. Participants discussed enhancing school facilities, increasing healthcare provision in schools, and ensuring the emotional well-being of educators, which greatly impacts educational quality.

The conference also underscored the necessity of school self-governance as a means to develop leadership and civic engagement in students. Officials confirmed that all suggestions and insights shared during the event will be assessed to advance youth policies and bolster children’s rights in Kyrgyzstan.
