Kumar Mangalam Birla Says He Was Nervous to Sit on the KBC Hotseat with Amitabh Bachchan

Kumar Mangalam Birla, one of India’s most respected business leaders and the Chairperson of the Aditya Birla Group, is set to appear on the popular television quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17. His episode will be part of the show’s finale week and will air on December 29 at 9 PM on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.

Although Kumar Mangalam Birla is known for leading a global business empire, he recently admitted that he felt nervous before coming on the show. In a promotional video released ahead of the episode, he openly shared that sitting on the hotseat opposite Amitabh Bachchan was not an easy decision for him.

In the promo, Amitabh Bachchan warmly welcomes Kumar Mangalam Birla to the set amid loud applause from the audience. Birla’s family members are also seen cheering for him, creating an emotional and encouraging atmosphere. During their conversation, Amitabh Bachchan asks him why it took so long for him to appear on the show.

Kumar Mangalam Birla replies with honesty and humility. He explains that he had wanted to come to Kaun Banega Crorepati for a long time, but fear held him back. He jokingly says that he was worried about what Amitabh Bachchan would think if he failed to answer even one question correctly. His response makes the host laugh and shows a lighter, more human side of the well-known industrialist.

This moment has resonated with many viewers because it highlights that nervousness and self-doubt can affect anyone, no matter how successful they are. Despite managing large companies and making major business decisions, Birla’s concern about being judged on a public platform feels relatable to everyday people.

Season 17 of Kaun Banega Crorepati has featured a wide mix of well-known personalities and common citizens. Several celebrities, including actors, singers, and filmmakers, have appeared on the show. The season has also delivered memorable moments, with singer Diljit Dosanjh recording the highest winning amount so far at over ₹50 lakh.

As the show moves toward its finale, Kumar Mangalam Birla’s episode is expected to draw special attention. His appearance not only adds star value to the final week but also sends a simple message—that even the most powerful leaders can feel nervous, and it is okay to admit it.
