DUBAI — A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Dubai’s Deira district when 19-year-old Mohammed Mishaal from Kozhikode, Kerala, fell from the terrace of a high-rise building. Mishaal, who had been in the UAE visiting his relatives for approximately 15 days, was immediately taken to Rashid Hospital, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Described by friends as an adventurous spirit, Mishaal reportedly climbed onto the building's terrace when he lost his footing, becoming wedged between two pipes before falling.
“He was here with his cousins while his parents stayed back in Kozhikode. This is an immense loss for the family,” remarked family friend Haneefa K K. Mishaal was pursuing a civil engineering diploma at a local college and leaves behind his parents and two sisters.
This tragic incident underscores the risks faced by young people in high-rise environments. Mishaal’s fall marks the second teenage fatality in the UAE this year, following the death of 17-year-old Alex Binoy in Abu Dhabi last April.
Authorities are concluding the necessary legal proceedings, and plans are underway to repatriate Mishaal’s remains to Kerala. This accident has left his family and community in shock, reaffirming the need for enhanced safety awareness in high-rise buildings.
