After enduring months of rumors, pop sensation Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have officially confirmed their romantic relationship on social media. Perry took to Instagram to unveil a series of images and videos, showcasing a joyful selfie of them beaming together and relishing sushi during their recent trip to Japan.

The caption for her post, “tokyo times on tour and more” adorned with heart and flower emojis, features a carousel of cherished memories from their adventure in Japan. A new image of the couple holding hands has intensified the excitement regarding their confirmed bond.

Trudeau echoed the sentiment by sharing a picture on X (formerly Twitter) with the couple alongside Japan’s former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his spouse, Yuko. He expressed, “Great to see you @kishida230. Katy and I truly appreciated the opportunity to sit down with you and Yuko.”

Fan reactions flooded social media, with one eager follower exclaiming, “OH CANADA!!! MAKING IT OFFICIAL!!!” and another conveying, “Your joy brings us joy. Sending all the love your way!”

The couple first ignited speculation back in July when they were seen dining together in Montreal, followed by Trudeau enthusiastically singing at one of Perry's concerts. Their debut appearance as a couple occurred in October in Paris, where they joyfully held hands after celebrating Perry's 41st birthday following a cabaret show.

Trudeau held the office of Canada's Prime Minister from 2015 to 2025, directing the Liberal Party until his resignation this year. In contrast, Perry is a celebrated artist with 13 Grammy nominations and seven studio albums under her belt, featuring chart-topping tracks like California Gurls, Hot n Cold, and Roar.
