In his latest comedy sequel, ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2’, Kapil Sharma returns to deliver a whirlwind of laughter and disorder with a storyline that builds upon the original while incorporating a central religious conflict. The plot revolves around Mohan Sharma, a Bhopal resident whose plan to marry his sweetheart Sanya falters due to familial opposition resulting from their differing religions. To gain acceptance, Mohan decides to convert to Islam, leading to a mix-up that results in his unexpected marriage to Ruhi.
What starts as a minor blunder spirals into marital chaos as pressures mount from his family. Mohan ends up marrying Meera, and in a twist, weds Jenny while still aiming for a future with Sanya. His tangled marriages draw the attention of the police after he confesses all to a priest. This sequel reflects the original film’s format while weaving in cultural complexities that enrich the humor and conflict.
Director Anukalp Goswami sets a lighthearted tone from the outset, ensuring a stream of laughter. The film avoids lowbrow humor, opting for situational comedy and precise timing. However, pacing falters significantly post-interval, where many gags lose their impact and certain scenes drag too long, particularly after the story's natural peak.
Kapil Sharma remains the film's standout talent, effortlessly turning simple moments into crowd-pleasers. Manjot Singh shines as Mohan's devoted friend, while the late Asrani contributes a nostalgic touch that showcases his timeless comedic talent. Akhilendra Mishra and Vipin Sharma provide solid support as the feuding parents, and Tridha Choudhary, Ayesha Khan, and Parul Gulati each convincingly portray Mohan’s accidental brides.
The film's soundtrack, however, falls short, with several songs interrupting rather than enhancing the narrative flow. Despite this, the engaging cast and lighthearted humor keep audiences entertained.
‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2’ shines when it embraces clean comedy and Kapil Sharma’s unique style. While it may lack the sharpness and coherence it could possess, it ultimately succeeds as a cheerful film suitable for family viewing.
