Post by : Mina Rahman

Kalyani Priyadarshan, known for her role in Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra, has expressed admiration for her friend Dulquer Salmaan’s portrayal in his recent film, Kaantha. In a post on social media, she described it as her favorite performance from Dulquer to date.

In her remarks, Kalyani mentioned that she entered the cinema with minimal expectations but left deeply moved. “This might always be my favourite @dqsalmaan performance… Went in knowing almost nothing and came out moved. I get extra excited when Dulquer speaks Tamil on the big screen,” she shared.

She also acknowledged the contributions of co-stars Samuthirakani, Bhagyashri Borse, and Rana Daggubati. “@thondankani sir, I thought I would only be cheering for DQ’s lines but I was cheering for yours too! @bhagyashriborse…my eyes go straight to you on screen no matter who else is there. And @ranadaggubati, always love watching you doing what you do best,” Kalyani remarked.

Kalyani further praised the film’s director, Selvaraj Selvamani, and music composer Jakes Bejoy, applauding the perfect casting and extending her congratulations to everyone involved.

Directed by Selvamani and produced by Dulquer and Rana through Wayfarer Films and Spirit Media, Kaantha narrates the journey of superstar TK Mahadevan (Dulquer) as he navigates conflicts with his former mentor Ayya (Samuthirakani). Bhagyashri portrays the emerging star Kumari, while Rana embodies the role of police inspector Phoenix. Upon its release on November 14, the film grossed ₹4.30 crore in India and ₹10.5 crore globally.
