As Children’s Day is observed throughout the nation, Bollywood personalities indulge in nostalgic memories from their playful youth—filled with scraped knees, beloved pets, and the simple rituals that shape their identities today. Actress Kalki Koechlin revealed one of her most cherished childhood memories, sharing a beloved photograph that captures the moment.
Kalki recalls an extraordinary yet delightful companion from her formative years—a baby squirrel that occupied a special place in her heart. Alongside a candid image from her past, she shares the warmth of that memory.
“That was my pet squirrel,” she reminisces with joy. “He would sleep in my hair at night.” With a chuckle, she adds, “When he was a baby, I'd feed him Cerelac using a pipette. I also sucked my thumb for quite a while! That’s probably where I get my big mouth from!”
Now a mother to 5-year-old Sappho, Kalki observes how motherhood has infused her life with renewed joy and excitement. “She defines her own identity. I allow her the freedom to unleash her creativity. She adores face painting—sometimes she paints her own face, and sometimes she takes to mine,” Kalki shares with affection.
For Kalki, Children’s Day serves as a delightful reminder of innocence, quirky habits, and the unique friendships that continue to resonate into adulthood.
