K-pop Group's Return Uncertain Due to Ongoing Legal Battles

Post by : Mina Rahman

The well-known K-pop girl group is currently on a break as a legal showdown with their management label drags on. This dispute has gained significant attention in South Korea, where management companies typically wield considerable power over their artists.

Earlier today, the label revealed that two members—Haerin and Hyein—are gearing up to make their return to the K-pop industry. However, confirmation regarding the participation of the other three members in future projects remains pending.

“We are assessing the intentions of the three members regarding their return,” the agency stated in an email.

The legal conflict emerged earlier this year when the group initiated a lawsuit against the label, claiming mistreatment and seeking to dissolve their contracts. In March, a South Korean court issued a ruling that barred the group from undertaking independent initiatives while the lawsuit is ongoing.

This ruling has allowed the label to retain complete management control over the group and prevents the five members from partaking in any commercial or promotional activities without the label’s approval.

As legal proceedings move forward, fans are left in suspense about the group’s destiny and whether all members will reunite under the same agency in the foreseeable future.
