Upcoming March Trial for Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively Heats Up

The legal showdown between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively intensifies as their trial is scheduled for March. Recent private group chat messages, submitted as evidence, showcase Rainn Wilson's support for Baldoni during a fraught period while filming It Ends With Us. These conversations, dated January 5, 2024, included notable figures like Baldoni, Travis Van Winkle, Andy Grammer, and producer Jamey Heath.

The discussion kicked off with Wilson reaching out: “Any update, Brothers?” Baldoni shared his distress following a disconcerting conversation with Ryan Reynolds. He revealed that Reynolds allegedly spoke to him in a belittling manner, questioning his character, intentions, and even criticizing a podcast he co-hosts with Jamey Heath, insinuating it misrepresents their safety.

In another message, Baldoni noted that terms like “creepy” and “abuse” were directed at him. He expressed difficulty in meeting the demands for a written apology, stating his confusion over unfolding events. Baldoni felt compelled to acknowledge Lively and Reynolds’ feelings, despite the anxious backlash from an upset spouse.

Wilson's response echoed support and disbelief: “Oh my God. I can’t believe it. You were set up and ambushed and personally attacked. I’m stunned,” he wrote. He likened Baldoni's surprise to being “a deer in the headlights” and suggested that refraining from an immediate apology may be wise. Encouraging him, Wilson urged: “Onwards, brother. Make a great and important and entertaining piece of storytelling. That’s all you can do now.”

The conflict commenced on December 20, 2024, when Lively filed a formal complaint with the California Civil Rights Department, alleging sexual harassment and a hostile work environment during the filming of the movie. Baldoni retaliated with a defamation lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds, which was subsequently dismissed. On November 12, 2025, he sought to have Lively’s claims dismissed. The trial is set for March 2025.
