Filming Commences for Jumanji 3 as Cast Reunites for Exciting New Journey

Post by : Mina Rahman

Production on ‘Jumanji 3’ has kicked off, signaling the much-anticipated return of one of Hollywood’s beloved adventure series. The first on-set image showcases Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black in full costume, marking the start of this new chapter. The photo was shared with the caption, “Look who’s on the loose,” igniting fan excitement.

Kevin Hart echoed this excitement by reposting the image and expressing optimism for the franchise, hinting that this could be their largest and most expansive film to date.

This untitled sequel follows the success of ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ (2017) and ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ (2019), both of which successfully reintroduced the timeless narrative of the 1995 original to new audiences and became global box office phenomena. Director and co-writer Jake Kasdan returns, collaborating once again with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. Moviegoers can expect the film to hit theatres on December 11, 2026.

Ahead of the filming, Dwayne Johnson shared behind-the-scenes glimpses from the Universal Studios lot, drawing surprise from fans as he approached the set. He expressed a deep nostalgia for shooting in Los Angeles after several years.

In a meaningful twist, Johnson mentioned his character will don a necklace bearing the original dice from the inaugural 1995 Jumanji film. He articulated that this was his tribute to Robin Williams and a sign of respect for the franchise’s enduring legacy, embarking on what he called “our very last Jumanji.”

The ensemble cast also sees the return of Nick Jonas, Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Lamorne Morris, and Danny DeVito. Johnson recently posted a clip from the table read, recounting how the entire cast’s reunion led to continuous laughter.

The modern Jumanji films have achieved remarkable success globally, with ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ grossing over $950 million and ‘The Next Level’ reaping over $801 million worldwide. As production continues with the full cast reunited, audiences are in for yet another lively, emotional escapade when Jumanji 3 debuts in theatres in 2026.
