Jordan made football history on Thursday by qualifying for the FIFA World Cup for the very first time. The team played an excellent game and won 3-0 against Oman. This important match was part of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The win helped Jordan finish second in Group B. This second-place finish was enough to secure a spot in the next round, which means Jordan will be going to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This match was played on the second-last matchday of the qualifiers. Jordan’s strong performance left no chance for Iraq to move ahead of them. Iraq lost their match 2-0 to South Korea, which meant they could not catch up to Jordan in points.
Because of Iraq’s loss, South Korea also confirmed their place in the World Cup.
So, Thursday was a big day for Jordan. Their fans celebrated this proud moment as their team finally reached the world’s biggest football tournament for the first time ever.
