In their newly released Christmas film, the Jonas Brothers deliver a comedic jab at Joe’s colorful romantic history. Premiering on November 14 on Disney+, the movie features Joe, Nick, and Kevin navigating an uproarious journey from London to New York as exaggerated versions of themselves, striving to reach home before Christmas.
Initially lighthearted, the plot quickly intensifies. Santa, portrayed by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, casts a playful spell on the brothers, insisting they have grown apart. Each challenge serves a purpose, guiding them to confront long-ignored discussions.
Joe Jonas Takes Center Stage
As the escapades unfold, the brothers embrace the humor, and Joe bears the brunt of the jokes. The film delivers sharp quips—some subtle, some not. At one instance, Kevin jests, “How many ‘connections’ have you made this month?” with Nick chiming, “Joe can't keep track.”
During an awkward train ride in Amsterdam, Nick is labeled “uptight,” Kevin is teased as “human cardboard,” and Joe winds up as the “lovable tramp.”
A Chance Encounter and Honest Talk
Joe's perspective changes when he encounters Lucy, played by Chloe Bennet, an old friend from childhood. As they explore Amsterdam, they discuss past relationships.
Joe reflects, “I've had my fair share of bad breakups too”—a line that hits home given his upcoming divorce from Sophie Turner in 2024.
Lucy then opens up, expressing discomfort in dealing with someone whose life is perpetually under scrutiny. Joe chuckles, saying, “Yeah, that's part of the deal.” Though brief, this moment adds a layer of authenticity to the film.
Confronting Labels and Finding Resolution
Things escalate when wolves surround the brothers in the wild. Joe confronts Nick, claiming he feels like a “vapid womanizer” due to their pokes—it prompts him to question, “Maybe I am just the shallow fool my brothers claim I am.”
In a traditional holiday fashion, the film concludes with heartwarming reconciliations, festive decorations, and Kevin and Nick surprising Joe with Lucy’s arrival. Joe ultimately confesses, “I feared falling for you and it blowing up in my face,” before they share a kiss, witnessed by all.
