Post by : Mara Rahim

Jim Bankoff, Co-founder, Chair, and CEO of Vox Media, emphasized that the BRIDGE Summit is essential for fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. He pointed out that genuine progress stems from human interactions and a willingness to understand diverse perspectives, enabling better contributions. The Summit serves as a unique platform for open discussions and shared learnings.

During his inaugural visit to the UAE for the BRIDGE Summit 2025 at ADNEC Centre, he expressed that he might not have visited without this opportunity to engage in media discussions. Bankoff expressed his appreciation for BRIDGE and its role in promoting global cooperation.

Addressing the current challenges in the media industry, Bankoff noted that rapid societal changes are influencing the sector. He highlighted the impact of emerging technologies like AI and shifts in governmental and economic structures on media operations. For media organizations to thrive, it is crucial they adapt to these transitions while remaining attuned to audience expectations and business imperatives.

He remarked that AI presents both challenges and opportunities, emphasizing the necessity of supporting creative teams and leveraging technology to drive sustainable growth. The discussions at the Summit showcase a variety of global viewpoints, contributing ideas from not just the United States but also regions like the Gulf, Asia, Africa, and Europe, which he finds inspiring.

Bankoff commended the UAE's openness and its drive for innovation, noting the country's positive steps toward fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among global citizens. Based on his observations, the UAE appears on a promising trajectory toward a stronger future for its media landscape.
