While on tour in Australia, Jelly Roll discovered he had received three Grammy nominations, including for best contemporary country album and best country duo/group performance. He expressed both surprise and appreciation, recalling how he once thought attending the Grammy Awards would be a singular experience, not anticipating that he would return with even more nominations in the years that followed. He conveyed the profound significance of this honor, noting that every artist envisions delivering a Grammy speech as a child.

Responses to his new look have varied, with one of the most striking coming from his daughter Bailee Ann. In his vlog, her laughter and astonishment were evident as she exclaimed she might cry, commenting that the clean-shaven look made him reminiscent of a turtle. The shave also underscores Jelly Roll's impressive physical changes achieved through his weight-loss efforts. Over the past three years, he has shed more than 200 pounds and frequently updates his followers on his progress, hurdles, and aspirations. His wife, Bunnie Xo, had previously indicated that he aimed to shave it all off to highlight his newly sculpted jawline. Jelly Roll mentioned that he may pursue skin-removal surgeries or even a facelift as he continues to alter his physique.

Before deciding on the fully clean-shaven look, he experimented with various facial hair styles, including a goatee and mustache, both of which received praise from his wife. Bunnie humorously remarked that the completely shaved appearance was “not terrible,” showcasing the lightheartedness of the situation.

In a recent discussion, Jelly Roll opened up about his ongoing battle with obesity, revealing he weighed over 300 pounds upon leaving middle school and reached around 550 pounds at one point. His current objective is to focus on achieving better health rather than merely building muscle. He also expressed his goal of weighing under 300 pounds before competing in a tag-team match at SummerSlam 2025.
