Jeddah Gears Up for the Red Sea International Film Festival

Jeddah is set to embrace an international audience as it hosts the fifth Red Sea International Film Festival starting tomorrow. The historic district, particularly the iconic Culture Square, is prepared to shine. Under the banner of “In Love with Cinema.”, the festival endeavors to unite people through the powerful medium of film.

Situated in Al-Balad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Culture Square offers breathtaking views of Al-Arbaeen Lake while blending traditional Hijazi aesthetics with a modern artistic vibe. Over the festival's 10-day run from December 4 to 13, this space will transform into a vibrant open-air cinema attracting visitors and industry figures from various nations.

This year’s edition will showcase more than 110 films, featuring international premieres, fresh Saudi productions, restored classics, and films competing in both feature and short film categories. Additionally, there will be insightful panel discussions, with renowned filmmakers and actors sharing their expertise.

Supporting emerging filmmakers remains a fundamental focus of the Red Sea International Film Festival. Annually, the festival provides workshops, training programs, and unique opportunities for young talent to cultivate crucial filmmaking skills and connect with industry veterans, fortifying the future of cinema in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
