Kamini Kaushal, the esteemed veteran actress who passed away at 98, was commemorated in Mumbai as numerous film industry veterans came together to celebrate her remarkable life. The prayer meet saw many prominent figures pay their respects, with Jaya Bachchan and Waheeda Rehman visibly emotional in attendance as footage on social media depicted their presence.

Jaya Bachchan arrived early, dressed in white, warmly greeting fellow attendees. Waheeda Rehman followed not long after in a graceful saree. Videos captured these two legends sharing gentle conversations amid a tranquil atmosphere. Raza Murad also attended the solemn gathering, which was marked by a simple setting devoid of ostentation or formal speeches. Attendees took a moment of silence to reflect on Kamini Kaushal's vast contributions to the Indian film industry.

Kamini Kaushal passed away on November 14 in Mumbai. Her last rites took place at the Worli crematorium, attended by immediate family.

Many in the entertainment community voiced their sorrow online. Celebrities like Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Amitabh Bachchan, and Anupam Kher shared touching tributes, reminiscing about their collaborations with her in films such as Kabir Singh and Laal Singh Chaddha.

Kaushal's career began when Chetan Anand cast her in the film Neecha Nagar (1946), which earned the Palme d'Or at Cannes. Over an illustrious career spanning more than seven decades, she captivated audiences with her roles in classics like Biraj Bahu and Shaheed. Post-1990s, she took on occasional roles, including in Chennai Express and Kabir Singh.
