The Liwa Science and Innovation Centre in North Al Batinah is hosting INNOVEX 2025, a unique exhibition aimed at showcasing student innovations in engineering. Organized by Shinas Vocational College, this event brings together students from various colleges to explore the intersection of engineering and technology in shaping the future.
Patronized by Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, the Governor of North Al Batinah, the opening ceremony saw participation from officials, academics, and enthusiastic students eager to discover the innovative engineering projects featured.
This year, 22 student-led projects are on display, emphasizing cutting-edge solutions inspired by technological advancements. The exhibition serves as a vital platform for nurturing creativity, addressing real-world challenges, and fostering a bridge between education and innovation.
Utilizing advanced engineering tools and technologies, the participating students have developed ideas aimed at improving various sectors within Oman. Their projects underscore a significant focus on renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and sustainable practices.
Sustainability remains a key theme of the exhibition, with numerous projects dedicated to environmentally friendly engineering solutions. Initiatives include effective water conservation systems and models demonstrating energy efficiency in homes and industries, reflecting a collective commitment to environmental stewardship at a time when climate change is a pressing global concern.
Renewable energy also features prominently, with several projects exploring solar and wind power. Students have presented innovative methods to enhance solar panel efficiency and demonstrated cost-effective wind turbine models, highlighting how natural energy can reduce dependency on fossil fuels in Oman.
The exhibition delves into the rapidly evolving realms of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT). Projects showcasing smart systems to enhance daily life include intelligent home devices and automation in agriculture aimed at improving crop yields and soil health.
By integrating AI with IoT, students have devised solutions to boost efficiency across various sectors, illustrating how futuristic technologies can propel economic growth and enhance the quality of living.
INNOVEX 2025 provides a platform for students to publicly present their innovative ideas, receive invaluable feedback, and gain practical experience.
