New York dazzled on Monday night as the 35th Gotham Awards kicked off the film awards season with flair, glamour, and some unexpected wins. Hosted at Cipriani Wall Street, the event provided a relaxed yet star-studded environment, showcasing bold fashion statements and notable talent.

Key Winners Take Center Stage

Paul Thomas Anderson’s eagerly awaited “One Battle After Another” led the nominations with six, a record for the Gotham Awards. Despite the hype, it captured only the Best Feature award, highlighting the competitive nature of the night. Notably, Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi garnered attention by winning three prestigious awards for “It Was Just an Accident”—including Best International Feature, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Director—solidifying his presence at the ceremony.

Fashion Highlights on the Red Carpet

While the awards were the primary focus, the red carpet had its fair share of surprises. Rihanna wowed in a stylish Balenciaga outfit, complemented by A$AP Rocky in Chanel. Jacob Elordi presented a chic yet relaxed style, while Jennifer Lawrence shone in classic Dior, Naomi Watts epitomized elegance in Calvin Klein, and Michael B. Jordan exhibited his signature sharpness. Other stars, including Jeremy Allen White, Alexander Skarsgård, Amanda Seyfried, and Benicio Del Toro, opted for understated yet impactful appearances.

Elle Fanning stood out in a sophisticated Ralph Lauren gown, joined by Andrew Scott, Hugh Jackman, Oscar Isaac, and Ethan Hawke, enriching the event's glamorous lineup. The memorable joint appearance of Jackie and Adam Sandler, plus arrivals from Kate Hudson, Alec Baldwin, and Paul Rudd, added to the evening's high-profile atmosphere.

A Subdued Yet Meaningful Ceremony

Labeled as “low-key,” the Gotham Awards remain significant in setting the tone for the awards season ahead. Anderson’s notable win and Panahi’s trifecta could pave the way for future festival and guild nominations. With a blend of bold fashion and unexpected victories, the evening proved that even a more relaxed ceremony can create memorable moments that resonate.
