Saudi Arabia Distributes 1.9 Million Copies of the Holy Quran

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

JEDDAH — In a remarkable initiative, the Makkah Region branch of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has commenced a comprehensive distribution of the Holy Quran to international pilgrims who have completed their Hajj journey in Saudi Arabia.

The initiative is currently taking place at the departing halls of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, where pilgrims receive their copies of the Holy Quran as a cherished gift from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques prior to their return flights.

This year, the program has allocated a staggering total of 1.9 million copies, all printed by the esteemed King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran in Madinah, a globally recognized institution committed to the Quran's publication.

To cater to the varied nationalities and linguistic backgrounds of the pilgrims, the editions include translations of the Quran’s meanings in over 80 international languages. This initiative aims to empower returning pilgrims to continue their spiritual journey by enabling them to comprehend the Quran in their own languages.

Officials noted that this campaign underscores Saudi Arabia's steadfast dedication to serving pilgrims and disseminating the Islamic message globally. It aligns with the Kingdom's wider mission to facilitate religious services for visitors to the Two Holy Mosques, thereby enriching their pilgrimage experience.

According to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, these distribution efforts will persist around the clock in the forthcoming days. In addition to the airports, copies of the Holy Quran will also be available at land border crossings and seaports across the Kingdom, ensuring that every departing pilgrim can receive this valuable gift.

This annual initiative is widely regarded as one of Saudi Arabia's most significant efforts in religious outreach, allowing countless pilgrims to return home with a permanent spiritual reminder of their sacred journey to the holy sites of Makkah and Madinah.
