Gaurav Khanna has claimed victory in Bigg Boss 19, taking home the prestigious trophy along with a cash prize of ₹50 lakh. This achievement further enhances his reality TV portfolio, following his previous success on Celebrity MasterChef India.
Throughout the season, Gaurav faced criticism for adopting a “safe” strategy and remaining on the “backfoot.” Some viewers perceived him as merely an observer rather than an active participant, while others claimed he was a “fixed” winner leveraging his established fan base from television.
In response to these claims, Gaurav stated, “These are merely opinions. We aren’t obligated to satisfy everyone. It’s alright if some don’t like me; I’m thankful that many do.”
Rejecting allegations of being “fake,” he detailed his down-to-earth approach: “If I were fake, I would have donned designer clothes, applied makeup, and stirred up drama. Instead, I worked out in slippers, consumed rice with my hands, and maintained my regular routine.”
He also emphasized he did not buy votes, asserting, “I believe that genuine connections resonate with people. If even one mother, brother, child, or elder found favor with me, that was enough to earn their support.”
While contestants like Tanya Mittal and Amaal Mallik recently made headlines, Gaurav preserved a clean, controversy-free reputation, ultimately earning the audience’s trust.
Farrhana Bhatt and Pranit More were recognized as the first and second runners-up, respectively, closing a season filled with drama, strategy, and audience interaction.
