Flour Mill Linked to Delhi Blast Uncovered in Faridabad

Post by : Raina Nasser

In a significant turn of events regarding the Delhi Red Fort blast investigation, law enforcement officials have uncovered a flour mill, grinder, and various electronic devices from a taxi driver’s residence in Faridabad, Haryana. These tools were allegedly utilized to concoct explosive chemicals.

Muzammil Shakeel Ganaie, hailing from Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, is said to have played a pivotal role in the fatal explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10. Authorities disclosed during their inquiries that Ganaie used the flour mill located in his rented space in Faridabad to grind urea and extract ammonium nitrate, which was subsequently refined into explosives. Around 360 kilograms of ammonium nitrate alongside other chemicals were found at the site.

Ganaie, who holds a position as a doctor at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, reportedly introduced the flour mill and grinder to the taxi driver’s home as wedding gifts for his sister. Eventually, these items were transported to his rental accommodation in Faridabad.

Meanwhile, the taxi driver is currently under interrogation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Reports indicate that the driver had known Ganaie for approximately four years, having previously sought medical treatment for his son at Al-Falah Medical College and Hospital.

Additionally, two of Ganaie’s associates from Al-Falah University—Shaheen Saeed from Lucknow and Adeel Ahmed Rather from Anantnag—have also been apprehended in connection with the blast. The tragic incident, executed by suicide bomber Umar un Nabi, resulted in 15 fatalities and injured numerous others. Umar, a doctor from Kashmir, had affiliations with Al-Falah University.

The investigation has revealed that the blast is linked to a broader terror network associated with Pakistan-based groups, including Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, both of which have ties to al-Qaeda. In related operations, authorities have confiscated over 2,900 kilograms of explosives, including ammonium nitrate.

Ongoing inquiries aim to unravel the full scale of the network behind the Red Fort blast, with efforts dedicated to preventing future attacks and ensuring that all individuals responsible face justice.
