Veteran filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan — whose credits include Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om and Tees Maar Khan — has shifted part of her creative output to digital video after an 11-year break from directing films.
She began uploading cooking-focused vlogs in April 2024 alongside her cook, Dilip, a format that quickly resonated with viewers. Her channel has grown to almost 3 million subscribers while her Instagram audience has climbed to roughly 4.5 million followers.
Speaking on the talk show Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, Farah, 60, explained the practical and creative reasons behind the move. She said that when film projects were not materialising she decided to try YouTube, noting audience trends and the personal need to generate income for her 17-year-old triplets — Czar, Anya and Diva — who will soon attend university; the children are shared with husband and filmmaker Shirish Kunder.
Farah also underscored the role of work in her sense of fulfilment and autonomy. She told the hosts that happiness must come from within and from meaningful work, and added that she expects to remain active professionally for many years, observing that her output does not hinge on appearance or physical form.
The programme's next instalment, which also features actor Ananya Panday, is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on Thursday at midnight.
