FanDuel, a top player in online gaming and part of Flutter Entertainment, has revealed an exciting partnership with CME Group, the leading derivatives marketplace globally, to launch FanDuel Predicts. This independent app is set to be unveiled this December, aiming to merge sports entertainment with financial predictions, thus allowing millions across the United States to participate in diverse prediction markets.
Breaking away from conventional sports betting, FanDuel Predicts will present event contracts for major sports like baseball, basketball, football, and hockey, in addition to key financial indicators such as the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, along with commodities like oil and gold, cryptocurrencies, and even economic metrics such as GDP and CPI. Importantly, this model will function in states where online sports betting is not permitted, offering users the chance to trade on both sports and economic events.
Contracts on the platform will range from $0.01 to $0.99, making it a user-friendly approach to trading and learning. The app is designed with comprehensive consumer protection measures, enabling users to set deposit limits, receive alerts, self-exclude, and make informed choices about trading. Furthermore, educational resources within the app will demystify the mechanics of prediction markets and guide users on responsible contract buying and selling.
This partnership integrates FanDuel’s advanced mobile technology and customer service expertise with CME Group’s extensive legacy in derivatives and risk management, crafting a unique platform for both casual users and seasoned traders. To register for FanDuel Predicts, users must undergo a detailed “Know Your Customer” verification process, which includes providing personal and banking details to ensure secure and compliant participation.
With FanDuel Predicts set to launch, this initiative marks a pivotal advancement in democratizing access to trading beyond traditional avenues, providing users with an engaging way to interact with sports and financial events. The advent of this app signifies a transformation in how the general public can engage with financial markets, combining entertainment, education, and practical financial exposure.
