Etihad Airlines has launched direct services between Abu Dhabi and Madinah this week, a major step in its expansion efforts within Saudi Arabia. This new route is tailored for religious pilgrims, business travelers, and leisure tourists, enabling smoother access to one of the Kingdom's most significant spiritual hubs.
With the new Madinah service, Etihad now operates a total of 93 weekly flights to Saudi Arabia, covering five main destinations. The airline maintains four daily flights to Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, in addition to three weekly services to Al Qassim. The introduction of this route plays a vital role in Etihad's strategic growth agenda, which has seen the airline announce an impressive 31 new destinations within the past year.
Abu Dhabi has become a crucial gateway for those traveling to Saudi Arabia, offering smooth connectivity and the unique opportunity for a complimentary Abu Dhabi Stopover. Passengers transiting to Madinah can enjoy two complimentary nights at premier hotels, along with the chance to explore prominent attractions in the UAE's capital, including the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, cultural landmarks on Saadiyat and Yas Islands, and a range of premier entertainment options.
This expansion highlights Abu Dhabi's rising prominence as an international aviation hub. Travelers from Madinah will also find it easy to connect to Etihad's extensive global network, which spans across Asia, Europe, and Australia, thus enhancing access for global pilgrims and tourists.
Through this new route, Etihad reinforces its dedication to offering flexible, dependable, and comfortable travel solutions while strengthening ties between the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
