In a stunning display, East Bengal FC triumphed over Odisha FC with a 3-0 scoreline during their Indian Super League 2025-26 face-off in Margao, Goa. This crucial victory boosts East Bengal’s position in the league standings as they aim for the top.

Right from the start, the Red and Gold Brigade asserted dominance, showcasing superior control, swift attacks, and precise finishing. Bipin Singh opened the scoring early on, followed by a brace from Youssef Ezzejjari, ensuring a comfortable win for Kolkata's team.

This result catapults East Bengal to fourth place in the ISL table, accumulating 18 points from nine matches, while Odisha FC languishes near the bottom with just six points. Bipin Singh’s relentless performance earned him the Man of the Match title for scoring one goal and assisting another.

East Bengal initiated the match with fierce intent, nearly striking within the first few minutes against Odisha’s defense. Their persistence paid off in the 11th minute when PV Vishnu made an incisive run down the left, delivering a low cross to Bipin Singh, who neatly tucked the ball into the net, giving East Bengal an early advantage.

Following the opening goal, East Bengal maintained command of the game, generating numerous scoring opportunities through fluid passing and dynamic offensive play. Vishnu was instrumental on the wing, while central midfielders Saúl Crespo and Nandhakumar dictated the game’s tempo.

Odisha FC struggled to find their rhythm in the first half, often relying on counterattacks for scoring chances. Forward Rahim Ali displayed some attacking flair, but East Bengal goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Gill dealt comfortably with the minimal threats. He made a pivotal save to thwart Ali’s efforts before halftime, preserving the lead.

The second half unfolded with East Bengal sustaining their dominance, leaving Odisha FC struggling to penetrate a resolute defense. The pressure resulted in another goal in the 70th minute, as a dangerous cross from PV Vishnu led to confusion in the Odisha penalty area, allowing substitute Youssef Ezzejjari to react quickly and score after goalkeeper Anuj Kumar mishandled the ball.

Continuing to press, East Bengal sealed their victory in the 84th minute when substitute Mawihmingthanga set up Bipin Singh on the right. Singh delivered a composed cutback, allowing Ezzejjari to register his second goal of the match and East Bengal’s final tally.

Odisha FC mounted a late response but lacked the cutting edge in attack, with captain Carlos Delgado’s best attempt going wide. East Bengal's defense maintained its organization to secure a clean sheet.

This victory injects confidence into East Bengal as they advance in the ISL, showcasing a marked improvement, especially in their offensive play.

For Odisha FC, the loss amplifies pressure as they linger near the bottom of the standings. They will need to refine their defensive setups and enhance attacking capabilities in future matches to salvage their season.

East Bengal fans have every reason to be optimistic as their team’s confidence and attacking prowess grow amid an increasingly competitive race for playoff spots.
