Dubai Airport Reports Historic 24.2M Passengers in Q3 2025

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

In a remarkable achievement, Dubai International Airport (DXB) welcomed 24.2 million passengers during the third quarter of 2025, reflecting a 1.9% increase year-on-year. This boost brought total passenger traffic for the first nine months to an impressive 70.1 million, a growth of 2.1% compared to the same timeframe last year, while the rolling 12-month traffic reached 93.8 million by September.

Aircraft movements were equally noteworthy, with DXB recording 115,000 flights in Q3 and a total of 336,000 flights across all categories in the first nine months—a rise of 2.7% year-on-year. The average passengers per flight stood at 213, demonstrating optimal operational functionality.

Improving Passenger Experience

Dubai Airports is committed to enhancing its terminal facilities to accommodate escalating demand. New additions include:

  • CB Central (Terminal 3): A hub for Dubai's finest brands and experiences.

  • CB East: Family-friendly dining and entertainment options.

  • CB West: A blend of premium shopping and casual dining.

  • CD Central (Concourse D, Terminal 1): Offering panoramic views of the airfield, modern lounges, and effortless retail access.

Looking ahead, preparations are in place for Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC) to evolve into the primary gateway by the early 2030s, envisioned as a smart, future-ready aviation hub.

Key Markets and Destinations

India has retained its title as the largest source market for DXB, contributing 8.8 million passengers, followed by Saudi Arabia (5.5M), the UK (4.6M), Pakistan (3.2M), and the US (2.4M). London stood out among city destinations with 2.8 million travelers, alongside Riyadh (2.3M) and Mumbai (1.8M).

Outbound leisure travelers favored locations such as Malaysia (687,000), Vietnam (493,000), and the Czech Republic (341,000), underscoring DXB's significance as a key tourism gateway.

Operational Excellence

DXB's commitment to high service standards is evident:

  • 63.8 million bags handled over nine months, a 6.2% increase.

  • 90% of luggage reached passengers within 45 minutes.

  • Mishandling accuracy at 99.9%.

  • 99.6% of departing travelers cleared passport control in under 10 minutes.

  • 99.7% of travelers underwent security screening in under 5 minutes.

Enhancing Dubai’s Global Position

With unprecedented traffic and stellar operational efficiency, DXB continues to reinforce Dubai’s status as a global economic and tourism nucleus, facilitating international travel, trade, and investment while gearing up for further aviation advancements at DWC.
