Man Ejected from Lady Gaga Concert Due to Troubling Past

Post by : Mina Rahman

An Australian individual notorious for his disruptive behavior at celebrity events was removed from a Lady Gaga concert in Brisbane, even before it commenced.

Johnson Wen, 26, took to Instagram to share that he was “kicked out” of Suncorp Stadium on Tuesday night. Previously, he had grabbed pop singer Ariana Grande during the Asian premiere of Wicked: For Good in Singapore, marking his ongoing pattern of interference at concerts and events.

Last month, a Singapore court imposed a nine-day prison sentence on Wen for his conduct toward Grande, following which he was barred from re-entering the country. During court proceedings, Wen promised the judge he would “not do it again,” but his track record of public disturbances raised alarms at the Brisbane venue.

Security footage from the concert showed Wen being escorted out by security staff, with the audience responding with a mix of cheers and boos. Suncorp Stadium confirmed that due to his past actions, he was viewed as a potential risk, leading to his exclusion to protect the artist’s safety.

Wen’s past includes jumping on stage to disrupt performances by artists like Katy Perry and The Weeknd. Singaporean officials had previously rebuked him for prioritizing attention over public safety.

The incident involving Grande sparked significant public outrage in Singapore, with fans accusing Wen of “re-traumatizing” the singer, who has been candid about her PTSD following the 2017 Manchester concert attack that left 22 dead and hundreds injured.
