Fans of Ranveer Singh have much to rejoice about. Following his roles in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and a cameo in Singham Again, the star is back with the eagerly anticipated thriller Dhurandhar. This project is crafted by Aditya Dhar, the film’s writer, director, and co-producer, and features a talented ensemble including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. Notably, this marks Ranveer’s inaugural collaboration with Dhar.

Dhurandhar is inspired by actual geopolitical events and the undercover endeavors of RAW, particularly spotlighting Operation Lyari, aimed at dismantling crime syndicates in Lyari, Karachi. With its gripping narrative, engaging soundtrack, and expansive production, the film is among the standout releases of the year, recognized for its considerable runtime in Indian cinema.

Just before its international premiere, critic Umari Sandhu shared his take on Twitter, granting the film four stars. He remarked on its compelling screenplay, dynamic action scenes, and high production quality, especially praising the recreation of Karachi’s Lyari. Ranveer's performance received special mention, along with commendations for Sanjay Dutt and Akshaye Khanna in their authoritative roles. Sandhu hinted at an unexpected twist during the final moments, asserting that Bollywood is experiencing a resurgence akin to its “golden days.”

During a media event, Ranveer Singh expressed his admiration for newcomer Sara Arjun, referring to her as a “child prodigy,” likening her to Dakota Fanning. He commended her versatility, self-assuredness, and innate talent, suggesting that her performance significantly enhances his portrayal on screen. Proudly, he stated that soon the world would recognize her extraordinary potential.
