Dhurandhar Achieves Record-Breaking Global Launch for Ranveer Singh

Dhurandhar Achieves Record-Breaking Global Launch for Ranveer Singh

Post by : Mara Rahim

Ranveer Singh’s latest venture, Dhurandhar, has made waves at the global box office by achieving the best opening of his career. The spy thriller exceeded industry expectations with a robust performance. In India, the film garnered a net collection of ₹27 crore and a gross of ₹32.40 crore on its first day. While initial forecasts anticipated an opening range of ₹18–20 crore, positive buzz helped the film surpass ₹25 crore by the day’s end. Unverified claims about ticket manipulation through block bookings have surfaced, but no official confirmations exist.

On the international front, Dhurandhar also thrived, raking in $850,000 on its release day, leading to a remarkable total of ₹40 crore worldwide. With such momentum, the film is forecasted to cross the ₹100 crore milestone by Sunday, potentially reaching it by Saturday. This impressive start lays a strong foundation for the film's sustained success at the box office.

With this launch, Dhurandhar becomes Ranveer Singh’s top film debut, eclipsing his previous record with Padmaavat, which opened to just over ₹37 crore in 2018. It also outperformed significant releases like Saiyaara, which earned ₹29.40 crore on its opening day. Nevertheless, it fell short of Chhaava, which achieved an impressive ₹47.40 crore on its debut.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is set against the backdrop of Pakistan in the early 2000s, depicting Ranveer as an Indian agent aiming to dismantle notorious Lyari gangs. The film draws inspiration from true events and boasts a talented supporting cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and R. Madhavan. Given the positive audience reception and increasing interest in international markets, the film is anticipated to maintain its vigorous momentum through the weekend.
