Dhurandhar Shatters Records, Surpassing Rs 1006 Crore Worldwide

Dhurandhar has proven to be the blockbuster Bollywood sought for 2025. After the early achievements of Chhaava, Dhurandhar concludes the year on a high note, dominating box office revenues and public discourse. Within 21 days, the film has amassed an impressive Rs 1006.7 crore globally, setting multiple records in the process.

On its 21st day, the film garnered Rs 26 crore, exceeding its initial opening day collection of Rs 28 crore—a noteworthy accomplishment in the film industry. In India, Dhurandhar has earned Rs 668.80 crore, with a noteworthy occupancy rate of 50% on Day 21, up from its 33.81% debut.

Even with a minor drop to 4,753 showings on Day 21, Dhurandhar remains a strong player in cinema, competing effectively against new releases like Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which debuted with a 32.67% occupancy rate across 3,000 screenings.

Ranveer Singh delivers an impactful performance, marking a significant return to form and drawing parallels to his notable roles in Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani. The film has revitalized interest in Akshaye Khanna, whose memorable scenes and viral dance moments have made waves online. Dhurandhar has exceeded the total earnings of Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, claiming the title of the highest-grossing Indian film of the year.

Importantly, Dhurandhar is now recognized as the highest-grossing A-rated Indian film globally, surpassing Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.

While the film has received accolades for its technical excellence, it has also faced scrutiny, labeled by some as "well-made propaganda," yet this has done little to hinder its financial triumph.

Under the direction of Aditya Dhar, the film boasts a stellar cast including Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. Jointly produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar is set to expand its franchise with a sequel hitting cinemas on March 19.
