Mumbai: Iconic Bollywood figure Dharmendra, affectionately known as the He-Man of Indian Cinema, has been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to breathlessness. At 89 years old, he remains under careful observation, with family reports indicating that his condition is stable and improving.
Amidst rampant misinformation and false reports circulating on social media about his health, Dharmendra's wife, Hema Malini, alongside daughter Esha Deol, released emphatic statements requesting privacy and cautioning against the spread of unverified news.
Hema Malini expressed her frustrations on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “What is occurring is intolerable! How can credible channels disseminate untruths about someone who is responding positively to treatment? Respect the family's need for privacy.”
In a similar tone, Esha Deol took to Instagram to reassure the public, saying, “The media appears to be in a frenzy spreading falsehoods. My father is stable and on the path to recovery. We ask for privacy for our family during this time. Thank you for your prayers for papa’s swift recovery.”
Sources reveal that Dharmendra is being cared for by senior cardiologist Dr. Dev Pahlajani at the hospital. Despite rumors online suggesting he requires ventilator support, family members have neither confirmed nor denied such claims.
Throughout the day, various family members and friends visited the hospital, including Hema Malini, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Abhay Deol. Notable Bollywood stars such as Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Ameesha Patel were also seen at the hospital, extending their support and prayers for Dharmendra's well-being.
Security measures have been tightened outside Breach Candy Hospital as fans and media gather for updates. Hospital sources affirm that Dharmendra is showing positive responses to treatment under constant supervision.
Fans nationwide have taken to social media to show their support with heartfelt messages and prayers for the beloved actor. The hashtag #PrayersForDharmendra has been trending since early today, with admirers reminiscing about his legendary performances in films like Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani.
Turning 90 in December, Dharmendra remains influential in films and social media, inspiring countless fans with his grace and charisma. His latest appearance was in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya earlier this year.
At this time, doctors have not released an official medical statement; however, family sources assure that there is no reason for concern. Dharmendra is stable, and the Deol family has encouraged everyone to rely solely on official announcements.
