The romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein, directed by Aanand L Rai and featuring stars Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, debuted in theaters across India on November 28 in both Hindi and Tamil. Despite a range of critical feedback, the film has attracted large audiences, notably with its Hindi version performing well at the box office.

In India, the Hindi release alone grossed over ₹50 crore in its opening weekend, prompting the producers to share a celebratory poster that showcased Dhanush lounging on a jet, proudly noting, “50.95 crore (NBOC in India) Only Hindi.” Dhanush also took to social media to express his delight, writing, “Flying high! Har Har Mahadev.” The Hindi version has not only outperformed the Tamil edition domestically but also in international territories.

Opening with ₹22 crore on its first Friday, the film surged to ₹44.25 crore by Saturday, eventually finishing Sunday with a net Indian collection of ₹52 crore, comprising ₹49.75 crore from Hindi and approximately ₹2.25 crore from Tamil. On an international scale, the film garnered ₹6 crore in its opening weekend, culminating in a global total of ₹68 crore. Analysts suggest that while there might be a drop in weekday earnings, the film is poised to potentially exceed the ₹100 crore milestone in the forthcoming weeks if its momentum continues.

Directed by Aanand L Rai and penned by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, Tere Ishk Mein delves into the intricate relationship between Shankar (Dhanush) and Mukti (Kriti Sanon). The narrative explores how unresolved feelings and past misunderstandings arise when they reconnect after years, blending themes of romance, regret, and the prospect of second chances.

The film’s performances, music, and the signature emotional storytelling of Rai have received praise from audiences, playing a pivotal role in its strong box office results. Despite mixed reviews, viewers have especially lauded the chemistry between Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, which has significantly contributed to the film’s commercial appeal.
